Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA)
Since 1984, the first year of existence of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority and the 25 years that have followed, CRDA has reinvested over $1.8 billion in over 400 projects across the state according to its statutory mandates. In Atlantic City alone, we have reinvested over $1.5 billion.
The only agency of its kind nationwide – the CRDA has used casino reinvestments as a catalyst for meaningful, positive improvement in the lives of New Jersey residents statewide. In doing so, the CRDA has dramatically changed Atlantic City’s residential, commercial, cultural, and social landscape, while financially supporting quality-of-life improvement efforts throughout New Jersey.
CRDA started with a substantial commitment to housing in Atlantic City. Over the years, we have reinvested over $350 million in housing and neighborhood development. We have built over 1500 housing units and have transformed the Northeast Inlet section of the City
CRDA is now engaged on its eighth road widening/corridor improvement project with the South Inlet Transportation Improvement Project. We have reinvested over $200 million in the entrance corridor at the Atlantic City Expressway both for highway improvement and for the creation of “The Walk.” Continuing our partnership with the Cordish Group, we continue to expand “The Walk” across Columbus Boulevard in Phase III and the Atlantic City Live! in Phase IV.
