The Mayor James L. Usry Child Day Care Center is located on Drexel Avenue at Virginia Avenue in the heart of Atlantic City's Atlantic Heights District. The center opened in September of 2001.

This child care center, run by Atlantic Human Resources, is a fitting tribute to a man who always put children first. The 12,600-square-foot facility was designed to help resort children equate learning with various elements of society. With Head Start Program funds, the center will be available to families of all income levels.

The Mayor James L. Usry Child Day Care Center is a CRDA project that was financed through reinvestment tax credits by Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort.
